WEEK FIVE RESULTS

Now that Milt has finally taken over the CFL All-time Touchdown lead we can all get back to making our picks. I obviously took a week off to watch. But El Duque didn't! Congratulations to our first-ever 20 POINT WEEK! A few perfect weeks out there and its getting mighty tight at the top o' the heap. We're only 5 weeks in folks and theres a lot of f-ball to play...(reminder: Week 10 is a 5 point Suicide Week - like it or not.)

On another note, I've received all of the Pool fees (ok, one is "in the mail", right Pat?) and can officially disclose the prizes...

1st place - $ 207.00
2nd place - $ 103.50
3rd place - $ 34.50

And lastly, who wants to go see the Bombers throttle the Argos on Friday August 24th? The Koop is visiting the 'Peg for his second bi-annual Koopfest and we'd all love to have him buy us a $6 beer at the game. So lets talk it up and get organized...

And how 'bout them Bombers! I'd like to point out that Michael and Blair were the only two poolies who didn't believe in Bomber Blue this week. Check out where that got them!

WEEK ONE RESULTS

Welcome to a new season of the Super-Happy-Fun CFL pool! A special welcome goes out to all our rookies this year (Randy, Michael, Sonya, Pat and Ian)

Firstly, lets clarify a few things. After checking back with the head of the rules committee it was decided that in the event of a tie (extremely rare) the points placed on the game (for whichever team) would be split in half. This is the system used in the past. Then the rules committee head decided to try and change the rules (probably to his own devious advantage) but YOUR EL PRESIDENTE (Presidente for the People!) put and end to this malicious attack on decency. You're welcome.

Secondly, pool fees are due by July 27th. Thanks to those who have already paid and/or sent payment.

Thirdly, Ian Pudsey. You're a rookie Ian and I started off liking your moxie. Adressing me with "Hail El Presidente" was a smart move. Unfortunately ending your emails with "Go Riders" will get you nowhere. Fast.

Fourth, congratulations go out to the New Demoncats on their pending nuptials! Good luck Andrea and Jonathan!

Fifth, El Presidente is heading out on vacation for a few days and will be unavailable for press conferences, coronations, gala dinners, etc., until Friday or Saturday. So I won't be sending out any reminder emails about getting your picks in either. Week Two picks are due by 7 PM Central (8 PM Eastern) on Thursday July 5th. In my absence El Duque will NOT be in charge.

Alright, on to the first week's tallies...

1. Pat Strain - 9.5 points

2. The New Demoncats (Andrea Coulling and Jonathan Hildebrand) - 9

3. Ian Pudsey - 8
